1952 Ferrari 212 Vignale coupe. Extensive period race history including double Mille Miglia entries and multiple entries in the Italian Hillclimb Championship. Very well sorted and very dependable vintage racer, eligible for virtually any historic event on the planet. Features a very attractive period alloy LWB California Spyder built by Drogo for Count Giovanni Lurani Cernuschi, Milan.

History

S/n 0147 E. Originally a 212 Inter Vignale Coupe. Similar body style to s/n 0151 S.

1952, 18 Jan., chassis sold from Ferrari factory to Renato Nocentini, Florence, Italy (owner of Garage La Rotonda, the local Ferrari dealer).

Chassis consigned to Vignale for coachwork. RHD. Body similar to no. 0151 S. Two–tone paint.

1952, 13 Mar., sold to Siro Sbraci, Florence/I, paid for the complete car L. 3,300,000, plate FI 57750).

1952, 20 April, raced in the Florence–Fiesole Hillclimb, Italy. Sbraci 3rd OA.

1952, 04 May, raced in the Mille Miglia w/Sbraci–Giudici, race no. 559. DNFed. Damaged.

1953, repaired at Garage La Rotonda, Florence/I and converted from one to three carburetors.

1953, 31 May, raced and 1st in class at the Tuscany Cup w/Sbraci, race no. 929.

1953, 11 Oct., raced in the Verminicio–Rocca di Papa Hillclimb, Italy, Sbraci, Sport Commerciale CL3000, 2nd.

1954, 23 Mar., sold to Gino Casarotto, Venice/I, paid L. 800,000, registered on plate VE 26260.

1998, 24 Oct., as per long talk with Wayne Obry, they just finished the motor and it runs GREAT! The bill was about $48,000.

2005, 04 May, to M. Sheehan of www.Ferraris-online.com as a track car for the Ferrari–Maserati Historic Challenge. A detailed pre–purchase inspection found no problems, and excellent compression and leakdown on a fresh $48,000 rebuild by Motion Products.

2005, May–June, race prepared by Wayne Obry’s Motion Products. Complete brake and suspension safety inspection. Competition seat belts, catch tank and new tires fitted.

2005, 24–26 June, at the Ferrari–Maserati Historic Challenge at Mont Tremblant racetrack, Quebec, Canada. Light and easy to drive, very dependable. Driven by M. Sheehan.

2005, 07-09 July, at the Ferrari–Maserati Historic Challenge at Lime Rock, Connecticut. A low maintenance and dependable vintage Ferrari race car. Driven by M. Sheehan.
