1974 USA model 246 GTS s/n 08030. March 1974 Production. Series 3 (Type E) model run. Currently in bare metal as part of a Platinum level restoration. New in Fly yellow with Daytona seats. Only 10,693 total miles since new!

History

S/n 08030. 246 GTS. 1974 USA model. New in Fly yellow, Daytona seats, P/M, A/C, Cromodora wheels. No flairs.

1974, new to Wide World of Cars, 233 West Route 59, Nanuet, New York. 10954.

1974, 07 June, sold new to first owner, John Fergus, Westerville, Ohio. John was the Volkswagen importer – distributor for the Midwest for 23 years. Diagnosed with chest cancer and sold everything off 1997–98. Car was yellow, USA model, P/W, A/C, Daytona seats and Cromodora wheels.

1997, sold to Tom Rootliep, Turlock, CA. Only 8,100 miles. Fly yellow, California plates TMX 729.

1998, shown at Concorso Italiano, Monterey, CA. 85.5 points by Thomas Rootliep.

2005, stripped to bare metal and a platinum level restoration begun. All the work done so far is absolutely top flight and by the very best in the business. The car is well on its way to become the 100 point show car it is intended to be.

Seats reupholstered by Niminck in correct Connolly leather; the interior is otherwise all original.

The radiator was cleaned and needs to be painted flat black before being installed.

The car has been taken down to bare metal and shot in primer to preserve the metal. It is ready for paint and assembly.

The bumpers have been nickel plated, but need to be chromed.

The engine and transaxle was sent to Patrick Ottis for compression and leak down checks, inspection, detail and reseal. It is ready to go back into the car.

2005, 10 Nov., sold to Fantasy Junction and Mike Sheehan’s www.Ferraris-online.com and offered for sale.
