Features

1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 s/n 08607, a well documented, three-long-term-owner 330 GT 2+2 with full paperwork back to the first US Bill of Sale. Very nicely restored in the original Argento (silver) with Nero (black) leather and dark red carpets in 1990-1991 at 78,000 kms (48,400 miles). Complete mechanical restoration in 1988-1989 at 75,200 kms (46,600 miles). Has all service records back to 1979. Just completed a full mechanical service plus a transmission and differential rebuild plus any deferred maintenance issues resolved in June of 2015. Has only 94,158 original kilometers today. Cosmetically the full black leather interior and headliner are in excellent condition with an excellent patina, as are the wood dash and the center console. The correct Wilton wool carpets show as “near new”. The engine, transmission and differential are all matching numbers. The entire brake, suspension, shocks and cooling systems are very clean and all show well. The body and chassis are wonderfully rust free, there is no known accident history and the door and trunk gaps are very good. The chrome bumpers, headlights bezels, and window frames are all straight and in very good condition with only minimal light hazing and no pitting. The headliner and dash cover are excellent. The wood veneer is unmarked and all the factory original gauges remain intact. This car also carries its factory wood rimmed steering wheel which nicely completes the originality of the interior. The car makes excellent power with no smoke and has excellent oil pressure.

Mechanically this Ferrari has just completed major service including rebuilding and re-sealing the rear axle, the differential and rebuilding the 5-speed transmission. Fit All new synchronizers and two new sliders were installed. Other work included fitting a new rear main engine seal, rebuilding the radiator and installing new water hoses, adjusting the valves, rebuilding both distributors, installing new points, rebuilding all three of the larger 40 DCZ/6 carbs, installing a new clutch master and a new slave cylinder. Fitting all new under-hood soft fuel lines. Fitting new soft brake hoses. Flushing the brake system. Removing and resealing the steering box. Installing new front windshield rubber seal. Changing the engine oil and filters. Today the suspension is soft and compliant and the brakes stop the car effectively and evenly. 330 GT 2+2 s/n 08607 GT is a pleasure to drive that starts instantly and runs as well as it looks. On our test drive the second gear synchro was “as new”, both when warm and cold, and the engine pulled strongly once warmed. The car sits on restored mag wheels with excellent older Michelin XWX tires. As per Rod Drew at F.A.I., “a really solid car, no rust, no damage, no stories”. Still fitted with the original belly pans. All invoices are on file. It is a matching numbers car with outstanding body and chassis integrity. A comes with four documentation files with all paperwork back to 1979, rare copies of the original build sheets, plus the both owner’s books. Only the radio is not original or period correct.
