USA model 365 GTB/4. Recently finished a platinum quality restoration with fanatical detail work to every component on the car. Gorgeous new Fly Yellow paint with an all–new black leather interior with black carpets. A much better–than–new 365 GTB/4. Fitted with the Comp. Daytona grind P–6 cams and Euro headers, giving about 400 hp. Also fitted with the Comp. Daytona 3:90 rear gears, giving lightning quick acceleration, and 9″ wide “Boxer” rear wheels. Complete with the original leather owner’s pouch, parts books and owner’s manual, the tool roll and a full set of tools. Well documented ownership going back to the first selling dealer. A bargain considering the current cost of a good 365 GTB/4, plus the cost of restoration.

1975, February, sold new by Francisco Mir, Ferrari dealer for Santa Monica.

1976, for sale in FML by Simpson Automobili, Houston, TX. Red/black. Mag wheels, air, AM/FM, 8–track. 23,000 miles.

1981, for sale in FML by Ed Superfon, Jem Properties, Los Angeles, CA. Rosso Dino with black interior. Borranis. Sold new Feb 1975 by Francisco Mir. One owner.

1981, 31 May, for sale in LA Times by Sam Black, Sports Ltd., Marina Del Rey, CA. Red. Borranis.

1995, 20 Feb., car owned by Mike Tomforde, route 4, box 126, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Car at Ben’s workshop, Austin, TX. Clean carbs, replace plugs, remove and reinstall distributors, overhaul distributors and ignition boxers, fit MSD ignition boxes. Total invoice $2.146.52.

2000, 1 Aug., sold to Mel Spillman and as per copy of cashier’s check from Frost National Bank to Kehl Motors from Mel Spillman, $97,840.80 needing paint, tires, chromework, an interior and years of deferred maintenance corrected.

2000, 1 Aug., odometer statement from David Kehl to Mel Spillman. Total mileage 28,611 miles.

2000, 31 Aug., title changed from Kehl Motors, San Antonio, TX, to Mel Spillman, 40 Donore Square, San Antonio, TX 78229.

2001, 20 Dec., as per Jim Custer, assistant District Attorney for San Antonio, Texas, this car is now owned/liened by one of six attorneys for Mel Spillman.

2001, 20 Dec., as per conversation with Tom Speer,

The mechanic who serviced all of the Spillman cars. Has all new carpets, new leather on the seats, etc.… The back glass and the windshield are out and new front and rear glass comes with the car. There is an all new rubber kit for the car. It also has new front wraparound lights, new backup lights and many other new–old–stock parts. It is very sound mechanically and has been serviced. Mechanically it has had all the parts needed for a service installed and also has new spark plug wires and of course new oil filters, a new air cleaner element, etc.… The car has a seized smog pump and a new one in the box. Syncros are very good. The car drives very well. The brakes and rubber hoses are all new. The brake pads are new and the brake calipers are all rebuilt. Also has new Michelin XWX tires from Coker tires. Has the original tool kit. Has mag wheels. Also comes with new 9” 512 Boxer rear wheels. Way too many parts to list! Purchased as part of a package including a Lola 332, a Shadow DN–5, a 512 BB, a 308/288 GTO conversion, and an F40 “hot–rod”.

2002, 04 Jan., purchased as part of a package of cars from the San Antonio District Attorneys office and from one of Spillman’s lawyers, including a Lola 332, a Shadow DN–5, a 512 BB, a 308/288 GTO conversion, an F40 “hot–rod” and 365 GTB/4 Daytona s/n 14279.

2003, restoration re–started with all co–ordination and mechanical by Rod Drew’s F.A.I., Costa Mesa, CA.

2003, September, during restoration sold to current owner, Vancouver, Canada.

2006, restoration completed.

2007, April, shipped to Vancouver, Canada, registered in Canada but almost never driven.

2007, May, on consignment with Michael Sheehan’s Ferraris-online.com.
