Subject: Re: 365 GTC/4 s/n 15499

Michael,

The fact that the car was not new to Luigi Chinetti Motors does not mean that it went new to Harrah’s Modern Classic Motors. By this time (after Jan 1972) Luigi Chinetti Motors was no longer the importer for Ferrari, having been replaced by Chinetti–Garthwaite in Paoli, PA. And many USA spec cars were delivered new to other than LCM, MCM and ChinGar.

According to Hil Raab’s Ferrari Serial Numbers Part I, 2nd Edition, S/N 15499 was indeed sold indeed new through ChinGar.

As for Harrah, Hil shows some 80+ 365 GTC/4s being delivered new to Harrah and/or his Modern Classic Motors.

2001, 20 Oct.,1/2 ad in FML by M. Sheehan on p. 13.

Just traded in on a 550 Maranello. Over $40K in restoration work by previous owner! Spectacular blue chiaro paint with sumptuous black leather and grey carpets. Mechanically superb! Goes like the proverbial bat with an exhaust shriek to die for. Unbeatable syncros! Only 40,100 original miles. Freshly painted alloy wheels with near new Michelin XWX tires. Complete with tool suitcase & jack roll. A great color combination which compliments the black rubber front. The best C/4 we have seen in many years! Pay for the restoration work, get the car for peanuts! Priced to sell $64,500.
