History

1971 365 GTS/4 Daytona “Spyder” s/n 14553.

1971, delivered new to Modern Classic Motors, Reno, NV.To Francisco Mir, Authorized Ferrari dealer for Santa Monica, California.

1970s, owned by Mike Hendricks. He was a building developer in L.A.

1980, early, brokered by Mike Sheehan, European Auto Sales to Lorne Liebel, Ontario, Canada. Car acquired from Ed Superfon, The VIP Toy Store, Los Angeles. The VIP Toy Store had the car picked up from the owner and brought to the VIP location. The car arrived with a dead battery and a flat tire. After the car was running, Lorne and M. Sheehan later went back for a test drive, took the car for a drive and after the drive Lorne agreed to buy the car. We bought the car on the spot!

1999, 11 Jan., as per call from Lorne Liebel, yes, he still owns the car. Uses it twice a year. Should sell it, but… he likes it.

1999, 28 May, Lorne called. Yes he still has the car. Yes it is fly yellow with black leather. Yes it has very low original miles. He never uses the car. His bottom line is $300,000 USD. Do I have a buyer? Will fly to Toronto to inspect the car on June 5, 1999.

1999, 6 June, inspected and photoed by M. Sheehan while in Toronto. Very nice original car. Only 20,000 miles. Fly yellow with black. Has books and pouch. Has warranty car. Has jack kit but no tools. Has 8″ front and 9″ rear Borranis. Ran and drove very well. Only 20,000 original miles.

1999, 26 June, for sale in FML, half page ad, by M. Sheehan.

Extremely nice “patina” original two owner car. Sold new and in Los Angeles from 1971 to 1982. Then sold by European Auto Sales to Canada and still with the second owner. Only 20,000 original miles. Fly yellow with black. Has books and pouch. 8″ Borranis on the front 9″ Borranis on the rear. Excellent XWXs. Photos and complete history available. Priced to sell at $325,000 or best offer.
