1965 Shelby Cobra continuation s/n CSX4204. Rare hand–formed aluminum–bodied one–owner Cobra continuation built by Shelby in 2002. Well–documented build and ownership history. Fitted with a fresh dyno–tested aluminum big–block engine taken out to 482 C.I.D. and dyno tested at 511.7 hp at 6,000 rpm. Additionally, comes with a spare fresh period–correct 427 C.I.D. big–block side oiler engine. Near flawless black on black finish and only 246 one–owner miles.

History

S/n CSX4204, built by Shelby as a Cobra CSX4000 Component Vehicle. From new with Aluminum bodywork, black with black vinyl. Fitted with a fresh dyno tested aluminum big block taken out to 480 C.I.D. and dyno tested at 511.7 hp at 6,000 rpm.

2001–2002, built new by Shelby America Inc.

2002, 07 Jan., Shelby alloy heads with Stage II porting and Shelby Stainless rockers ordered from Carroll Shelby Enterprises, Inc., 19021 S. Figueroa St., Gardena CA 90248. Total invoice: $4,081.02.

2002, 03 May, sold by Shelby America, Inc. to Industrial Metal Craft, Inc., 4515 W. Harman Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89103. Invoice # 0204. MSO issued from Shelby America, Inc. to Industrial Metal Craft, Inc.

2002, 12 May, sold new by Industrial Metal Craft to current owner. Delivered as a complete roller. All gauges, fuel system, painted, upholstered, with wheels and tires, complete minus engine and transmission.

2002, 20 Aug., original big–block 427 steel–block side–oiler engine casting # C7 AC 14 with casting date 14 Oct., 1966 supplied by John Turner of Leber Coach, 12603 Sr 471, Webster, FL 33597-5113. Sold with an invoice listing all new internal parts with date codes. Delivered with a new–old–stock top–loader gearbox. Total invoice: $13,650.00.

2002, 02 Nov., drivetrain components (motor mounts, transmission mounts, shifter linkage, knob, etc.) ordered from Motorsport International, 10298 Hawley Rd., El Cajon, CA 92021. Total invoice: $460.36.

2002, 17 Dec., drivetrain components (bellhousings, carburetor, water pump, clutch fork, slave cylinder, etc.) ordered from Motorsport International. Total invoice: $4,185.00.

2003, January, big block 427 C.I.D. side–oiler installed by owner but never used.

2005, all new alloy block 482 C.I.D. engine built by Mike’s Speed & Machine, 12741 Los Nietos Rd Ste C, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Total invoice: $11,000.00.

2005, 06 Apr., all new alloy block 482 C.I.D. engine dyno tested by SuperFlow Corporation, 3512 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Produced 511.7 hp at 6,000 rpm and 450 plus lb–ft of torque from 3,800 rpm to 5,900 rpm with 480 lb–ft from 4,500 rpm to 5,300 rpm.

2006, 19 Jul., original 427 C.I.D. big–block side oiler freshened up/rebuilt and blueprinted by Mike’s Speed & Machine, 12741 Los Nietos Rd. Ste. C, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670, total invoice $2,785.68. Still with CSX4204 as a spare original engine.
