We are pleased to offer 1972 De Tomaso Pantera s/n 03995 with one long-term owner since 1993 and only 22,248 miles. Built to full GT5 body specifications, this Pantera has numerous Hall Super Pantera-inspired upgrades. The owner had the car stripped to bare metal and repainted by Hall Pantera. It has been fitted with a high-dollar grey leather interior and dash, Recaro seats and updated A/C with a wood dash face and steering wheel by Hall Pantera. The floor pans have been lowered for more headroom and four-point racing seat belts with quick releases are fitted. The large GT5 fender and rocker flares accommodate the wide Campagnolo wheels giving this Pantera an aggressive look, enhanced by the deep front spoiler and rear “Turbo” wing.
The engine compartment is fitted with a billet aluminum camber bar, stainless steel half-shaft covers, an updated clutch slave cylinder, hard lines and braided stainless steel soft lines, all by Hall Pantera. The engine is fitted with four Weber 48 IDA carbs, Taylor plug wires, De Tomaso valve covers and a Mallory hyfire ignition system. The transaxle case has been polished. Heavy duty half-shafts by Hall Pantera and top-of-the-line Gates Green Stripe hoses are also fitted. The exhaust headers and system are by Mind Train, the best Pantera headers made. An oil cooler by Hall Pantera and a 10-quart oil pan by Aviaid are also fitted.
Pantera s/n 03995 is fitted with the rare and expensive Campagnolo GT5 Wheels. The 15 x 10 fronts are fitted with very good 285/40-15 Pirelli P-7s and 15 x 13 rears fitted with very good 345/35-15 Pirelli P-7s. The brakes are dramatically updated with Wilwood four-piston calipers and vented rotors. The A-arm sway bar mounts have been replaced with Sphereballs, a very nice upgrade, and the sway bars have been replaced with Hall Pantera hollow bars and lower, stiffer springs and a front suspension lift kit; flick a switch and the nose rises by several inches. Rear lower A-arms covers and billet aluminum sway bar center mounts are also by Hall Pantera. Comes with the correct original space-saver spare tire.
The Pantera was De Tomaso and Ford’s volume-built, follow-up to the very successful Ford GT40 and proved to be both fast and mechanically bulletproof, thanks to a mid-engine, 4-bolt main, Ford 351 C.I.D. (Cleveland) engine mated to a ZF 5-speed transaxle. Pantera s/n 03995 is California smog-exempt and has no power-robbing smog equipment. Fly in for an inspection and test drive. This is a stunning Pantera in a very elegant white with grey leather combo that will not disappoint. The owner’s loss, your gain, priced right at $59,500 or best offer, this car is seriously for sale.
