S/n 25627 was sold new in black with tan by FM Motor Car Co., Inc. authorized Ferrari dealer for Monterey, California, is still black with tan and has been in southern California since new. 308 GTB s/n 25627 comes with amazing and voluminous ownership and service paperwork history from its second owner going back to 1983, so thirty-two years. The self-confessed obsessive-compulsive owner is both an aeronautical engineer and an orthopedic surgeon and so 308 GTB s/n 25627 has been obsessive-compulsively well maintained, always nicely detailed and is extremely well documented. Complete from the original warranty card dated 10 Jan., 1979, the owner’s purchase documents dated 05 March, 1983, and a staggering amount of related sales documents, service invoices, smog slips and other paperwork from new making for an extremely well documented four inch thick service and ownership history. This is a wonderfully driving 308 GTB, the syncros work smoothly, the clutch is light to use, grips quickly and the car can be thrown into corners with total ease and confidence. Performance is excellent throughout the RPM range thanks to the smooth power curve of the very well-tuned carbureted 308 GTB engine. The cam belt and fluid service was completed on 21 May, 2014 at 59,121 miles, so less than a year ago and less than 400 miles ago, by Ferrari and Maserati of Newport Beach at a cost of $13,790.89. During the same service, the A/C hoses were also replaced and the A/C was updated and works well.

308 GTB s/n 25627 was fitted with a custom front spoiler very similar to the 512 BBLMs, designed and fitted by the owner, an aeronautical engineer, which we had unbolted and then installed the desirable Euro lower front spoiler, grille, US bumper and US model bumper shocks. The wheel wells were nicely flaired in metal by European Auto Restoration and Etoille 17″ 5 spoke mags with Michelin Pilot Sport 235/45 ZR 17 front and 255/40 ZR 17 rear tires are fitted. The body is exceptionally straight and dent free. The black paint is excellent and the leather is in good original condition. It goes straight hands-off with no shimmy and brakes in a straight line. It has a battery cutoff switch from a late model Ferrari to prevent dark current from the clock and radio station memory from depleting the battery and an alarm system. It has been continuously licensed in California and driven by the current owner for thirty-two years and it has been California smog certified every two years since new. The engine bay is nicely detailed, the original carpets are under the accessory carpets and the under panels, belly pan and suspension are in good condition.
