We are pleased to offer 1972 USA Model Ferrari 365 GTB/4 s/n 15731. This exceptionally nice USA model Daytona has a well-documented ownership history back to the selling dealer and a service history from 1979 to today, so thirty five years of service records! Sold new in 1972 by Clark Simpkins, then the authorized Ferrari dealer for Vancouver, Canada to Claude Belanger, Belanger Contracting, Terrace, BC and with Claude from 1972 to 1978. Our feature Daytona was next with Taylor Campbell, the second owner, from 1978 until 2000, so 22 years. Sold to the third owner in 2003 and now with only the fourth owner. From new in Rosso Chiaro with Black (Nero) leather interior and Grey carpeting. Excellent body, paint, leather and trim. Comes with a great set of tools, an excellent tool roll, the jack kit, the roadside reflector and the full set of books, with the USA supplement, a correct warranty card, the AGIP wiping rag and the correct leather carrying pouch. Also comes with the original factory sales brochure.

The Daytona represents the most desirable front-engined V-12 street Ferrari ever to leave Maranello. Beyond its classical and timeless body lines, the Daytona will do 55 mph in 1st gear, 85 in 2nd, 115 in 3rd, 150 in 4th and there is one gear left for those brave enough to touch 170 mph in a forty-year-old road car. Effortless bullet at high speed, the brakes, steering and shifter effort are just heavy enough to let you know you are driving a very potent machine at low speed or a tight curve. With little modification Daytonas were raced on the great circuits of the world, from Le Mans to Daytona, adding multiple GT class victories to the winning tradition of Ferrari GT racing. Ferrari’s return to this layout with the 550 Maranello has proven that the front-engined V-12 is a timeless concept that still competes with the most exotic mid-engined cars. Just 1,284 Daytonas were built making the Daytona the last of the Enzo-era V-12s!

Today 365 GTB/4 s/n 15731 remains cosmetically striking, having been carefully maintained since its restoration by Contemporary Coachworks, Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta. The paintwork was done to high standards and remains in outstanding condition. The body is straight and displays excellent panel fit. The chassis and undercarriage are in excellent condition and the suspension was recently treated to a complete rebuild and replating. The chrome, glass and lights are very good to excellent throughout. The wheels are excellent as well, as are the Pirelli P600 tires.

The interior is in very good shape. The dashboard is excellent, the leather on the seats and door panels remains supple and is free of creasing or other wear. The center console, carpets, headliner and rear parcel shelf are in very nice condition, as are the instruments, switches and controls. 365 GTB/4 s/n 15731 has been fitted with a period Nardi steering wheel and a modern radio.

The airbox, engine and engine compartment are all very clean and present very nicely. 365 GTB/4 s/n 15731 is fitted with the correct Magneti Marelli dinoplex ignition boxes. The trunk presents correctly, with excellent carpet of the correct type. The spare is the correct Cromadora alloy and is fitted with a matching Pirelli P600 tire.
