We are pleased to offer 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III s/n 4879 GTE. This very late 250 GTE has a well-documented ownership history going back to 1963 and has had only one owner for the last twenty-two years. It has been going through a dedicated and detailed very long-term restoration from the frame and bare tub-up by a knowledgeable owner, regardless of cost. 250 GTE s/n 4879 GT has an excellent body and is ready for the final paint color of your choice. Because it is a Series III GTE it has the later cylinder heads with bigger valves and ports for more power.

The body and chassis assembly were stripped and then sand-blasted to bare metal. The body and chassis were then rust-proofed with two-stage paint and the chassis was painted with epoxy black paint. The frame had never been in any accidents. The body was stripped to bare metal and blasted with granulates inside and out. All rusted areas were then repaired professionally with new door sills, a complete new floorpan and a new firewall. The trunk floor is also new. The body is exceptionally straight and the doors, trunk lid and bonnet fits as-new. The car has been painted and only needs final coats of paint. Once base-painted the body and frame mechanicals were rebuilt with every nut and bolt to like-new standard, taking care to be as original as possible. All rubber seals for the doors, windows and trunk are new and the front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed.

The engine was stripped and rebuilt from a bare-block using original Ferrari parts. It has been fitted with new liners, pistons, valves, valve guides, bearings, chains, tensioner, etc. The distributors and carbs were rebuilt. There are several new-old-stock spares including a spare set of new pistons and headers. The matching number engine is as-new and has been installed in the car. The exhaust system, the fuel lines, the brake lines and booster are new. The exhaust system is also new and the radiator has been re-cored. It stands on four new Borranis (never been on the road), and the electrical wiring is done and everything works correctly.

On the interior, the front and rear leather seats are excellent while the inner-roof headliner is new, and the car comes with four square meters of black original carpet material. Included is what we believe to be an original optional suitcase but in need of repair.

1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III s/n 4879 GTE needs only final assembly and final paint. Every detail is there except the brake pistons and rear shocks. Everything is photo documented. The engine is in the car and has been started. This 250 GTE comes with the complete toolkit with leather tool bag. The owner has spent several thousand hours on the restoration. It has matching engine-chassis numbers of course. In Europe, with EEC duty paid.
