We are pleased to offer 1965 Shelby G.T. 350 s/n SFM5S075. This “two digit” 1965 Shelby G.T. 350 is one of the first 100 cars built for SCCA homologation. It has a well documented period race history with nearly two dozen SCCA Regional and National races with the original owner, and because this Shelby G.T. 350 is a 1965 production model, it is eligible to run in the 1965 and earlier F.I.A. GT Class in Europe, where the Shelby G.T. 350s dominate their class. This very well documented Shelby G.T. 350 had only one original owner from 1965 to 2006, an amazing 41 years, and was sold new to the original owner on 19 Oct., 1965. It features the handmade fiberglass hood, the inside mounted spare tire and the rear mounted battery which were unique to the 1965 models. In 1966 it was upgraded to the 1966 style G.T. 350 plexi–glass quarter windows from Shelby American. SFM5S075 entered in its first SCCA drivers school at Riverside Raceway in 1968. As the result of the SCCA regional race at Continental Divide Raceways in Castle Rock CO in August 1969, the block was scrapped. A Boss 302 block with a 289 crankshaft and rods was purchased. TRW 13.25:1 pistons were installed and the rotating mass was balanced. GT40 valves with 390 valve springs were also installed, the heads were ported and polished and a Reed camshaft was installed. SFM5S075 was also converted to the G.T. 350 racing radiator, the oil cooler assembly with the “Cobra” lettered oil cooler adapter kit and the competition roll bar from Shelby American Performance Equipment. A fiberglass front apron, Mallory dual point distributor and a Stewart–Warner electric fuel pump were also purchased from Shelby American while Carroll was selling these parts. In 1973, fender flares were added to comply with the then current SCCA rules.

In 2004, the SAAC magazine (issue number 73) reported SFM5S075 as the G.T. 350 with the longest tenure with its original owner. It has raced side by side with Bob Tullius, Don Roberts, Jim Fitzgerald and Janet Guthrie, is eligible for almost any event—from the Tour de France–to the Monterey Historics
